Dididi project officially launched

Julien Sudre

The DIDIDI project has officially begun, marking the start of an ambitious collaboration to address the growing impact of climate change on water-related diseases.

The consortium recently held its virtual kick-off meeting, bringing together partners from across Europe and Africa. This first meeting provided an opportunity for all participants to get to know each other, present their respective roles, and align on the project’s objectives, structure and initial activities. It also set the foundation for effective collaboration over the coming years.

DIDIDI brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including researchers, healthcare professionals, public authorities and organisations working at the intersection of climate, water and public health. This diversity is a key strength of the project, enabling a multidisciplinary approach to complex health challenges.

The consortium is now preparing for its first in-person meeting, which will take place on 18 May 2026. This face-to-face kick-off will be an important milestone, allowing partners to deepen discussions, refine coordination mechanisms and initiate the next phase of the project’s implementation.

Over the coming months, DIDIDI will begin deploying its activities, including research on climate-related health risks, stakeholder engagement and awareness actions. The project will also lay the groundwork for key dissemination and collaboration initiatives across regions.

Stay tuned for more updates as DIDIDI progresses and contributes to improving understanding and prevention of water-related diseases in a changing climate.
